Unique piece by Lula Máiz, designed with an antique silver cross from the Axum area, made with European silver coins, especially the Maria Theresa Thaler. These coins, minted in the mid-18th century, became the international currency of Africa and the Middle East for centuries. They were also melted down to make traditional silver jewelry, in this case, crosses. This one is set with emerald rondelle beads and contemporary silver beads.
